The Government Libraries Information Network, (GLINJA) formerly the Socio-Economic Information Network (SECIN) began in 1980 through a joint project of the Government of Jamaica, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). GLNJA has the responsibility to contribute to, and support the global goals of sustainable development, and to maximise the gathering, organizing, and dissemination of information for personal and national development.????Sixty-seven library and information units in the public and private sector organizations in the areas of economics, finance, development planning, social welfare, environment, national security, education, culture, business, training, communication, health, religion, insurance, trade, manpower, industrial development, and international relations constitute the network. Co-ordination is carried out by the focal point, the Wesley Hughes Documentation Centre at the Planning Institute of?? Jamaica.
